Vioxx, also sold as Ceoxx and Ceeoxx, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, or NSAID, much like ibuprofen and naproxen except that it causes heart attacks, strokes and death. In addition, the manufacturer, Merck and the FDA conspired to hide the data about the side effects. The drug was released in 1993 and recalled from the world market in 2004. A fund was set up in New Orleans in 1995 to settle claims relating to Vioxx (rofecoxib). In 2011 Merck pleaded guilty to federal charges related to its marketing and sales practices.
There are millions of people who have used Vioxx as a pain killer. If you or someone you love have experienced a heart attack or stroke due to Vioxx, please contact Nolan Caddell Reynolds today for your free consultation. Your compensation may already be available.
